Neuromeka CEO pledges 170,000 shares to POSTECH, capped at KRW 5bn
Neuromeka chief executive Park Jong-hoon signed an agreement on Oct 24 to give 170,000 of his Neuromeka shares to POSTECH, his alma mater, according to a large-shareholding report he filed on DART on Oct 26.
The shares move in five annual tranches of 34,000 each May from 2027 to 2031, and the duty ends early once the donated stock reaches KRW 5 billion in cumulative value.
Park Jong-hoon, the founder and largest shareholder of Korean cobot maker Neuromeka, signed a share donation agreement with Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) on Oct 24, according to a large-shareholding report he filed with Korea's DART disclosure system on Oct 26. The filing lists 170,000 voting shares, or 0.73% of Neuromeka's 23,408,424 voting shares, as the subject of the contract. The transfers run from 2027 to 2031, with 34,000 shares moving to the university every May, and the remaining obligation lapses once the cumulative value of the donated stock reaches KRW 5 billion.
After the agreement Park and his related parties hold 3,507,204 shares, a 14.98% stake, unchanged except for 1,227 shares that a registered director added. The company said in a statement carried by Korean media that the gift will fund AI and robotics talent programmes and long-term industry-academia work with POSTECH; the filing itself does not describe how the university will use the shares.
For Neuromeka the pledge comes in a costly year. MEKAWIRE's Neuromeka explainer found that its H1 2026 net loss already exceeded its loss for all of 2025, and the company raised money through a rights offering in April. It also leads a KRW 17.5 billion national project on autonomous welding of curved ship hull blocks. Because the tranches are capped by value rather than by count, a higher share price means fewer shares leave Park's holding.
