Pudu Robotics, the Shenzhen maker of delivery and cleaning robots, said in a press release on Oct 30 that it has opened its European headquarters in Neuss, Germany, combining offices, a showroom, warehousing, training, sales, after-sales service and repair, all already operating.

The company said its European business spans more than 20 countries, that 11 of them each grew more than 60% a year over the past two years, and that it employs nearly 50 sales staff and nearly 40 technical support staff in the region.

It did not give a European unit count or revenue. MEKAWIRE comparison of Pudu's own releases: on Oct 23 the company said more than 8,000 of its robots run in Korea, about 6% of its 130,000 global shipments, while neither its September post-IFA release nor today's release puts a number on Europe.

Pudu Robotics said in a press release on Oct 30 that it has opened its European headquarters in Neuss, in North Rhine-Westphalia near Düsseldorf. The site combines office operations, a product showroom, warehousing, training, sales, after-sales service and repair, and the company said all of these functions are already operating. It adds to a service centre in Germany and warehouses in the Netherlands and Germany that hold complete robots and spare parts.

What Pudu disclosed about its European business

The Shenzhen company, best known for the BellaBot and KettyBot restaurant delivery robots and the CC1 cleaning robot, said its European business now spans more than 20 countries. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic and Poland each recorded annual business growth above 60% over the past two years, according to the release, which does not say whether the measure is revenue, orders or units. Pudu said it employs nearly 50 sales staff and nearly 40 technical support staff in Europe and works through local distributors, system integrators and service providers.

Named customers include EDEKA, Albert Heijn, Carrefour, Marriott, Van der Valk, Pizza Hut, Intermarché, Denner and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Denner, the Swiss discount chain in the Migros group, has deployed more than 200 CC1 cleaning robots across its stores, the company said. Bella Sun, Pudu's vice president and general manager for Europe, said customers need local teams and service capacity to keep fleets running over the long term.

The number Pudu gives for Korea but not for Europe

MEKAWIRE compared today's release with the company's two previous regional announcements. On Sept 14, after IFA Berlin, Pudu said it had shipped more than 130,000 robots worldwide in more than 85 countries and that Denner had deployed 200 CC1 units; today's wording is "more than 200". On Oct 23, at its first Korean partner conference, it said more than 8,000 of its robots operate in Korea, about 6% of global shipments. Neither European release gives a unit count, revenue or customer count for the region, so Europe's weight in Pudu's business cannot be measured from the company's own figures.

MEKAWIRE analysis

Pudu is building the service layer that decides whether European retailers buy a second hundred robots, and it is doing it in Germany rather than through distributors alone.

Cleaning and delivery robots in stores are sold on uptime: a chain that rolls out hundreds of machines needs spare parts, repair and trained staff within a day's drive. About 90 people for more than 20 countries is still a thin network, which is why the release leans on partners. The timing also matters. On Oct 28 the US formally found that imported robots threaten national security and opened a 180-day negotiation window that could end in tariffs, as our Section 232 explainer sets out, which makes Europe a steadier market for Chinese service-robot makers. Germany installs more industrial robots than any other European country, as our Germany and Europe market explainer shows, but service robots in shops and hotels are a different, labour-cost driven market. The counter-argument is that a headquarters is a cost line, not a sales figure: until Pudu discloses European units or revenue, the growth claim rests on percentages without a base.

What to watch

Whether Pudu publishes a European installed-base figure as it did for Korea; whether more retail chains follow Denner with fleet-wide rollouts; and how rival Keenon Robotics answers in the same markets. The last Pudu financing in MEKAWIRE's database is a round announced in April 2026; see the Pudu Robotics profile.
