Bear Robotics
Silicon Valley maker of autonomous serving and delivery robots for restaurants and hospitality, led by its Servi line, majority-owned by LG Electronics since January 2025.
Bear Robotics was founded in 2017 and is led by founder and chief executive John Ha, a former Google software engineer; Juan Higueros co-founded it and served as chief operating officer. Its Servi robots, including Servi Mini and Servi Plus, carry drinks and food and bus tables in restaurants, corporate campuses, hotels, ghost kitchens, senior care facilities and casinos, and LG Electronics said in 2024 that the company sold its robots in the United States, South Korea and Japan. In March 2022 Bear, then giving Redwood City, California as its base, announced an $81 million Series B led by new investor IMM with Cleveland Avenue and existing investors, and said it had raised $117 million in total, including a $32 million Series A led by SoftBank in January 2020. In March 2024 LG Electronics agreed to invest $60 million under a stock purchase agreement that LG said would make it the largest single shareholder. On 22 January 2025 LG said it had exercised a call option for a further 30 percent, lifting its holding from 21 percent to 51 percent, and that it would combine Bear's technology with its LG CLOi commercial robot business. LG did not disclose the price of the additional stake in that release.
