Robotics startups announced USD 1.63 billion in 16 rounds with disclosed amounts between Oct 19 and Oct 28, 2026, according to MEKAWIRE's database of primary-sourced rounds, equal to 88% of the USD 1.85 billion recorded for the whole third quarter.

Bedrock Robotics' USD 600 million Series C is 37% of the total, six rounds of USD 100 million or more make up 80%, and US companies took 86%. MEKAWIRE's data report explains where the money went and how much of the jump is real.

Robotics companies announced USD 1,631.4 million in 16 rounds with a disclosed amount between Oct 19 and Oct 28, 2026, according to MEKAWIRE's database, which records only rounds confirmed by a company release, an investor post or a filing. That is 88% of the USD 1,846.0 million we recorded for the entire third quarter, raised in ten days. One cheque explains much of it: Bedrock Robotics' USD 600 million Series C, which CapitalG announced on Oct 26, is 37% of the period.

The question for founders and investors is whether this is a new pace or a cluster. The answer depends on three things the table below separates: the size of the largest deals, what the money is buying, and how complete our earlier data are.

Latest from MEKAWIRE

Six cheques of USD 100 million or more carry 80% of the total

Six rounds reached nine figures: Bedrock (USD 600 million, Series C), Warp Sciences (USD 215 million at launch, led by Lightspeed), Eka Robotics (USD 150 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz), Tractian (USD 130 million Series D at a USD 1.4 billion valuation, per its release), Reliable Robotics (USD 115 million, which takes its Series D to USD 275 million and its valuation above USD 1 billion, per the company) and Foundry Robotics (USD 100 million Series A, per its website). Together they total USD 1,310 million, or 80.3% of the period. Without Bedrock, the ten days still add up to USD 1,031.4 million, 56% of the third quarter.

The median disclosed round was USD 45 million (the midpoint of Machenta's USD 40 million and Formic's USD 50 million), and six of the 16 were seed or pre-seed rounds worth USD 218.4 million together. Dream Labs' USD 90 million seed and Enact's USD 30 million pre-seed are sizes that would have been a Series A or B two years ago.

As of Oct 29, 2026

The pace is eight times the third-quarter rate

Measured per calendar day, the third quarter brought USD 20.1 million of disclosed robotics funding and the first 18 days of October USD 23.9 million. Oct 19 to 28 ran at USD 163.1 million a day, 8.1 times the third-quarter rate. US companies took USD 1,403.0 million, or 86.0%. The rest went to the UK (Machenta and XRlabs, USD 48.4 million), Switzerland (Enact, USD 30 million) and Eka, whose country we have not recorded. China's Huixi Technology, a chip designer for embodied-AI robots, closed Pre-B+ and Series B rounds in the same window, but its 2026 total is stated only as above RMB 2.5 billion, so it is not in the sum.

The month as a whole has already broken the pattern of the year. October 1 to 28 stands at USD 2,062.0 million across 31 recorded rounds in our database, more than the entire third quarter and the largest monthly total since March (USD 4,436.0 million), the high for the year so far. The months between ranged from USD 46.5 million in August to USD 1,010.5 million in September.

Autonomy for big machines, not humanoids, took the largest share

Grouped by what each company sells, autonomy for heavy machines and aircraft (Bedrock's excavators, Reliable's autonomous Cessna Caravan, Kodama's remote logging skidders) took USD 722 million, 44% of the total. Robot models and training data (Eka, Dream Labs, Machenta, Enact, Maxinsights) took USD 340 million. Factory automation and machine health (Tractian, Foundry, Formic) took USD 280 million and lab and medical robotics (Warp, Zap Surgical, XRlabs) USD 259.4 million. No humanoid maker announced a priced round in the window.

MEKAWIRE analysis

The money is following robots that already have a paying job, whether that is digging, flying freight, assembling parts or making molecules, and it is paying up for the model layer that could make those jobs portable.

The evidence is in the mix. Bedrock, Reliable, Tractian, Formic and Foundry all sell an outcome (an excavated site, a flown route, machine uptime, robot hours, assembled units) rather than a robot. Formic's round includes debt, and Reliable's includes a USD 25 million term loan; lenders only finance fleets with contracted revenue. At the same time, five companies building robot models or data collected USD 340 million, most of it at seed or Series A, a bet that the brains will be sold across many such machines.

The strongest counter-argument is our own coverage. MEKAWIRE started recording rounds daily on Oct 1, 2026; the quarters before that were backfilled and are thinner (we hold 19 third-quarter rounds with an amount). Part of the jump is better counting. Even so, Bedrock and Warp alone (USD 815 million) exceed our full July (USD 789 million) or August (USD 46.5 million), and announcements of that size would have been captured in any quarter.

Bull case: the pace holds into November as Physical Intelligence, which Bloomberg reported on Oct 27 to be in talks to raise about USD 1 billion at about USD 20 billion, and other model companies close rounds, and the fourth quarter ends above USD 4 billion in our data. Bear case: this was a pre-year-end cluster of deals that had been in progress since summer, November falls back to the USD 20 to 25 million-a-day range, and the large rounds become the reference prices for down rounds in 2027.

What would change our view: two more weeks below USD 50 million a day, or a large humanoid round that shifts the mix back toward general-purpose hardware.

Watch next: the weekly MEKAWIRE funding data on Monday, Nov 2; Form D filings on EDGAR for the US rounds, due within 15 days of the first sale; and whether Physical Intelligence confirms any terms.

    Why it matters

Ten days produced almost a full quarter of disclosed robotics funding, and the cheques went to companies that sell outcomes on heavy machines, aircraft, factory lines and labs. That changes the reference points for every robotics founder raising in the next six months: a USD 30 to 90 million seed is now on the record several times over.

The concentration also matters. With 80% of the money in six rounds, the period says more about a handful of growth investors (CapitalG, Lightspeed, Andreessen Horowitz, M&G, Nimble) than about the whole market. A smaller startup should not read the total as easier money for itself.

  2. 02

    Rival analysis

Bedrock now has more disclosed capital than any other construction-autonomy company in our database, and its round lands two weeks after ICON's USD 200 million Series D on Oct 13. Reliable and Kodama show the same thesis in aviation and forestry: retrofit autonomy onto machines customers already own.

In models, Eka (vision-force-action, reinforcement learning in simulation), Dream Labs (a robot brain sold via API), Machenta (learning from one demonstration) and Enact (force and touch) all position against Physical Intelligence and NVIDIA GR00T. None has published a third-party benchmark that separates it from those incumbents yet.

  3. 03

    Valuation context

Only two valuations in the period come from the companies: Tractian at USD 1.4 billion and Reliable above USD 1 billion. Bedrock's USD 4.1 billion and Eka's USD 1.45 billion are outlet reports that the companies have not published, so we do not use them in any ratio.

For scale, Tractian's valuation is 10.8 times its USD 130 million round, a typical late-stage multiple; Reliable reached a billion while its Series D was only USD 275 million in total, which suggests investors are paying for its FAA certification lead rather than revenue.

  4. 04

    Supply-chain implications

Most of the money buys deployment, not invention: excavator retrofit kits, aircraft integration, sensors on industrial motors, factory floor space (Foundry's 130,000 sq ft Emeryville plant), and lab buildings (Warp). That spending lands with US integrators, machine OEMs and contract manufacturers rather than with Asian component makers.

The model companies spend on compute and data collection. Maxinsights (egocentric video) and Enact (force data) are early examples of a data supply chain for robot learning that did not exist as a funded category a year ago.

  5. 05

    Signals to watch

    1) Monday, Nov 2: MEKAWIRE weekly funding data; a second week above USD 100 million a day would confirm a new pace. 2) Mid-November: Form D filings for the US rounds on EDGAR, which give share classes and first-sale dates. 3) Any confirmed Physical Intelligence round; at the reported USD 1 billion it would be the largest robotics round in our October data.

  6. 06

    Analyst view

Thesis: the late-October cluster rewards robots with contracted revenue and the model layer that could serve them, not general-purpose humanoids. Confidence: medium. The mix is clear in our data, but the count before October is incomplete and one cheque is 37% of the total.

We would lower confidence if November rounds swing back to humanoid hardware or if the large rounds turn out to be mostly debt.

  7. 07

    Questions you should be asking

How much of Bedrock's USD 600 million is primary capital versus secondary? What share of Foundry's Series A is equity, and who led it? Will Eka, Dream Labs and Machenta publish results on a shared benchmark? How many of the 16 rounds were committed before the summer and only announced now?
